大学で研究・教育を行うかたわら、精神科での診療も行っています。目には見えないストレスという負担が、どのようなメカニズムで脳の機能を障害するのかを、包括的（薬理学・分子生物学・心理学）に研究しています。

「芸は身をたすく」と患者さんには申し上げておりますが、自分には趣味と呼べるほどのものはなく、American Forces Network (AFN)でRock, Soul Musicを耳にすることくらい。
